Product Overview

Black Sesame Seed Oil (Sesamum indicum) is revered in Ayurveda as the "King of Oils." Santo Group manufactures premium Cold Pressed Kala Til Oil from the nutrient-rich seeds of Rajasthan. Extracted at low temperatures to preserve natural antioxidants (Sesamol), our virgin golden-amber oil delivers a robust nutty flavor and therapeutic purity, making it the superior choice for Ayurvedic formulations, hair care, and Asian cuisine.

Product Description

Key Quality Indicators

  • Cold Pressed Purity: Extracted purely by mechanical pressing (Chekku/Ghani style) without using chemical solvents or heat, preserving the delicate Vitamin E and lignans.
  • Robust Flavor Profile: Possesses a stronger, more distinct nutty flavor than white sesame oil, making it ideal for premium culinary dressings and sauces.
  • Ayurvedic Grade: High viscosity and excellent absorption rate, making it the standard base oil for "Abhyanga" (oil massage) and "Shirodhara" treatments.

Industrial Applications

Our bulk Black Sesame Oil is a critical raw material for:

  • Ayurvedic Medicine: The primary base for medicated oils (Thailams) used to treat joint pain, arthritis, and skin conditions.
  • Hair Care Products: A key ingredient in anti-graying hair oils and scalp nourishment serums due to its high penetration capability.
  • Culinary Industry: Used as a gourmet finishing oil in Asian salads, marinades, and dipping sauces for its rich flavor.
  • Baby Care: A preferred traditional massage oil for strengthening bones and muscles in infants.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the oil black in color?

Answer: No. Even though it is extracted from Black Sesame Seeds, the oil itself is Golden-Amber in color. It is slightly darker and richer in hue than white sesame oil, but it is not black.

2. What is the difference between Black and White Sesame Oil?

Answer: Black Sesame Oil has a stronger, earthier flavor and a higher concentration of antioxidants and minerals (Calcium/Iron). It is preferred for medicinal (Ayurveda) and therapeutic use. White Sesame Oil is lighter, milder, and more commonly used for general cooking.

3. Is this "Toasted" Sesame Oil?

Answer: No. We supply Raw Cold Pressed Oil. Toasted oil is dark brown and has a smoky flavor (used only for flavoring). Our raw oil retains the natural seed nutrients and is suitable for both massage and cooking.

4. Can I use this for oil pulling?

Answer: Yes. Black Sesame Oil is traditionally considered the best choice for Gandusha (Oil Pulling) in Ayurveda due to its powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that support oral health.

5. What is the shelf life?

Answer: Due to high levels of natural antioxidants (Sesamol), Black Sesame Oil is very stable. It has a shelf life of 18 to 24 months when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
